After suffering a traumatic shock, Ellie seems to be imbued with the ability to see people and hear voices that others do not. Initially terrified, she soon realizes that she should use her gift to help people come to terms with the loss of a loved-one. She quickly becomes involved with a man and his young son, who is on the run while being accused of killing his estranged wife. Through a series of odd events and with the help of the voice of his dead wife, they embark on a crusade to uncover the truth while Ellie resigns herself to help those in need of resting in peace.
